This is an album of entirely improvised music. Not a single note was written or rehearsed. The only things I had to work with was the horn, the mood of the moment and the space (shown on the cover art).

In an age where most recorded music is preconceived, then rehearsed, and then edited to a great degree, I wanted to present a completely different approach. I, by no means, am doing something new. This is how music has been performed for thousands of years. I simple want to do my part in keeping improvised music alive in the modern world.

"As I breath", the new CD of solo soprano sax from PaulAlone (musician Paul Evans), is a live set of improv songs that celebrate the indoor season with a chill spontaneity. The full range of romance is represented here. The tone is like drinking chocolate. The lonely sax the only instrument on the album, is tasteful,artfully agile, never too busy. It fills the space with an exquisite softness, a gentle playfulness, alive and in the zone.
